βIf you have a septic system, you NEED these guys on your phone "favorite" numbers. Hector and Jeremy pumped out our system and they did it fast and effectively. OK, the back story. We bought our Las Cruces home in February. The previous owners minimally answered any disclosure questions so we had no idea what was done maintenance-wise. We came from Phoenix and Arizona's Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) requires that any home sale on septic to have the tank pumped. We owned a house on septic for 30 years so we know a thing or two about septic systems. New Mexico does have this requirement on home sales but we wanted to see how things are working. Let me tell you, I learned a few things about septic systems from Hector. This man knows his ... as he calls it... Mud! These guys are 5 star plus. Very personable and customer-focused. These are the guys you want for anything starting with S... Septic and S---!β β Jeff and Susan Sullivan, βββββ
βHector and his son Jeremy came to my rescue on a weekend with little notice and did an excellent job for a fair price. I highly recommend them. You may have to leave a message and wait for response, but worth the wait. An honest, hardworking team that I now consider my go-to guys.β β Redwiskers Lastknown, βββββ

βOutstanding service from start to finish. After calling New Age Plumbing and several other local companies that never showed up, even after scheduling appointments. I contacted Mr. Rooter, and they arrived within an hour. Mr. Gilbert Flores Jr. clearly explained the work that was needed and walked me through everything using photos on his iPad, which I really appreciated. The professionalism, transparency, and quality of work were top-notch. Even installed a new comfort height toilet and had it delivered from the company. Truly five-star service all around. P.S. Also provided a one year guarantee! How much more outstanding can they be!β β Rene Chavez, βββββ
βAfter trying two other plumbers to diagnose and repair my plumbing issue, a friend recommended Mr. Rooter. Wow! The level of service and expertise they displayed is outstanding! βI wish I could rate 0 stars but I canβt. I had this company come service my house and specifically told them to not for around because they would get stuck. Obviously they didnβt listen and got their truck stuck for days!! They even left the truck on!!! Being the cheap people they are they decided to try many ways to get it unstuck on varo different trips and days which destroyed my land. They finally gave in and payed another company to get them unstuck but like I said they left my land absolutely messed up. They came later to only empty out 1 of my tanks and still charged me for the full service. They never came back to finish the job after saying they would and I called many times and even went to the office to tell them to finish the job they started and to fix my land since they destroyed it. I was completely devastated ignored by phone and in the office and now they have been avoiding me for months saying they donβt service my house anymore because βthey lost money trying toβ. It has been months and I finally got my tank emptied out by Hugoβs Septic Service and he did an amazing job, I called at 11am, he got here at 1 and finished at 2β¦.. what took Ivanβs company to do (half assed) in weeks took Hugo 1 hour!!!! Absolutely horrendous customer service and I highly recommend to save your money and go somewhere else!!!β β Gilberto Juarez, β

βBe warned! Highly unprofessional business. There is a lot of details that could go into this review but I will summarize it below. Review on Owner/Driver Overview. - disrespectful towards women (only preformed "service" and effectively communicated to a male friend whom I asked to be present after he drove off and refused to service my RV the first time when I was alone) - 1.5 hours late with no update, courtesy call or apology (vague information given when I called for status update, rude about the conversation on his late arrival) -avoided responsibility for his actions (denied his role as the owner and main person that received my appointment information) - did not properly empty my tank (my tank was completely full after his service) - rejected my calls after payment for the "service" receive (the man basically stole my money. Ripping me off, knowing what poor work he did) -acted out and proved poor customer service in front of the youg child working with him I regretfully did not look up the negative reviews (which have now been deleted) previous to hiring him. I'm hoping this review will give you insight on how this business operates without going into the nitty gritty, awful details. Hopefully this will also inspire positive change in the owner and give his child worker a better role model to look up to.β β The GIG Is UP, β
βBad experience only lasted 3 weeks and they say its not their problem offered to come out if I payed full price.β β Barry Hager, β

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.
How much does septic pumping cost in El Paso?
Septic pumping in El Paso, Texas typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.
What are signs my septic system needs repair?
Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.
Do I need a permit for septic installation in Texas?
Yes, Texas requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.
How long does a septic system last?
A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.
What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?
A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
