βHonest, Educational, and Incredibly Professional What a refreshing experience with Alabama Septic Services! I called thinking I needed a standard pump-out, but they provided so much more. They offered same-day service and diagnosed a long-standing installation issue I never knew I had. They educated me on my entire system, showing me the problem firsthand. The best part? Their stunning honesty. They told me my tank didn't need pumping, saving me hundreds of dollars. They fixed the real issue the next day. Everyone, from the wonderful woman on the phone to the amazing technicians, was a pleasure to work with. This is a company that values customer education and integrity over making a quick buck. Do not hesitate to call them for any septic need!β β AngΓ©lique Suzanne, βββββ
βI called Alabama Septic Services after the first company I called didn't even try to get the job done. They came out, diagnosed my problem, explained what was going on, and recommended the appropriate action to fix my septic system. Throughout the entire process, all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. They fixed my septic issues and made sure I was completely satisfied with the process. Hopefully, I won't need a septic service for a long time, but, if I do, Alabama Septic Services will be the ONLY company I call! Thank you for the friendly service!β β Travis McGowin, βββββ

βI can't speak to the quality of their work. I'm sure they are very good at doing what they do. Unfortunately, I was just unable to have my questions answered over the phone. The office person I spoke with on the phone told me the tank I was asking about was a special kind of tank and was different from a standard tank. In fact, it was a tank that they themselves actually installed. But when I asked her to explain what the difference was, she did not know. I was told a technician would have to come out to take a look at it and explain the system to me. I asked if I could have a technician simply call me so I could ask questions prior to scheduling a service call. Was told that a technician would not be available to call me or answer my questions over the phone. Like I said, I'm sure they are great at what they do from reading the other reviews, but I may never know since the office person seemed unable to answer questions and unwilling to direct me to the right person at their company.β β Marty Harris, ββ
βWe are getting a smell in the area of our septic tank after a heavy rain. I called Me Wimmer (he performed a field line procedure a few years ago and it is doing its job fine) to have my tank pumped and the odor we were getting is no longer there. I recommend if you have a septic issue call Mr. Wimmer for good results.β β Don Shankweiler, βββββ

βExcellent. Came right away. Did the best job possible. Price was so reasonable that I could not believe it. Left everything neat. Was able to assess the problem. The best! I will recommend them to anybody who needs their type service.β β Melaine Ellison, βββββ
βRecently needed field lines installed. After getting the permit, I sent it to Billy's and one other company. Billy actually came out to my house to look at things even though they already had the permit from the health department stating the location and size of the lines. He took the time to call and make sure I wasn't over a certain gallons per month of usage to make sure we wouldn't have issues in the future. He then beat the price of the other company by approximately $800.00. Lines were installed in about 6 hours and I was really impressed with how smooth he left the back yard after digging 3 60ft long trenches. 100% would use this company again.β β Ben Key, βββββ

βThey are super expensive compared to others in the area. They play games with their pricing quoting you a lower price initially and then a switch and bait later. Their work is sloppy at best and of highly questionable value given their ratesβ β Super Fartesh, β

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.
How much does septic pumping cost in Mobile?
Septic pumping in Mobile, Alabama typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.
What are signs my septic system needs repair?
Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.
Do I need a permit for septic installation in Alabama?
Yes, Alabama requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.
How long does a septic system last?
A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.
What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?
A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
