βI can't say enough good things about our experience with Bob and his team! We woke up to a septic alarm alerting us of an issue in our tank but we're unsure of the tank location. Bob put our minds at ease by walking us through the different scenarios and finding our tank! He pumped the tank and worked with JAW's plumbing to replace a 26 year old pump. Bob reacted quickly, professionally, and very fairly priced. Highly recommended for any septic questions or concerns. John Detweilerβ β John Detweiler, βββββ

βOn the surface, Koberlein (or Wind River or whatever) seems like a good company - but in reality, they have all these different departments that don't communicate with each other, and we ended up spending several hundred dollars over what we should have. Their billing and service system are incredibly confusing. All of this money could have gone to actual good work that would have resulted in a fixed system. Additionally, they told us we had a 1000 gallon tank, which it turns out, we did not. On the phone, when asking about what to do, the representative did not give us options or explain what the problem could be - just scheduled another pumping. When we had it pumped the first time, they sent a camera down and did not explain anything about what they found. They did not explain anything about work they did to our plumbing, just that it 'had to occur.' Well, turns out I had another professional come and say their work was incorrect. They also don't know how to properly process customers or their needs. Go with a smaller septic and drainage company to suit your needs.β β Julien Ledda, ββ
βThis company used to be Koberlein in Lords Valley, PA. They WERE a reputable company for many years. Wind River Environmental totally ruined their reputation. First they didn't honor their cost on my septic cleanout, but the worst thing about them is they never return phone calls, and they just don't care. Their driver (Austin) drove very fast into my driveway and ripped out my camera cables on the house. He told me someone would call me to discuss. It cost me over $700 to get this repaired. Not one return phone call and I called them over 4 times and sent them emails. I will NEVER use this company EVER again. BEWARE!β β Elaine Weber, β

No one wants to replace a septic system when selling a house. Ours failed and the service provided is more than I could ever expect. These guys are the experts you are looking for and they are very responsive. Any issues with your septic I would highly recommend them. I never have the time to leave reviews, but I made the time for these guys!! Update: The work turned out amazing, the buyers were happy too. Travis worked with me on the final payment to not have to charge it before closing. Any septic work these are the experts to call!! Highly recommended!!β β Joseph passarelli, βββββ
βSuperb service! We recently purchased a home that had a septic system installed by Christman's Septic Service years ago and decided to stick with them for service and I'm ecstatic we did. Craig earned every bit of those 5 stars and did an absolutely amazing job. We required a cap replacement that was damaged by a mower and I wanted to be taught how to properly maintain the system. I've never maintained a septic system before and he explained everything in thorough detail. I've had to deal with many businesses since the purchase and move and this was the best of experiences. He was knowledgeable, honest, punctual, friendly, and thorough. You can tell he does a job right. 10/10 will be using Christman's Septic Service again!β β Aaron Nathaniel Dunbar, βββββ

βThe men who came out to clean out my septic were great! They even informed me that the company can place risers down. They wrote on the ticket βwill call in for risersβ. That's when things took a turn... A different employee who came to do the job never called, instead he showed up without notice. No appointment was ever made by anyone. They just took it upon themselves to make an appointment without discussing it with us. He said they just scheduled him and gave him a ticket to do the job. I was fine with him doing the job even though I was not prepared for them to come. I proceeded to ask him about price and he said he knew nothing about the prices so he would have the office contact us or we can call. He said he was happy because he got to go home early since we were his last job so he used any excuse to just leave. He was even backing his truck out while talking to me. We then received a phone call a few days later from a woman who says she is the owner. She was VERY rude and nasty! Not only did they not communicate with us but, according to their own employee, they didn't communicate with him either. I would happily not use their services again! I found another company with much more professionalism.β β Carmen Rodriguez, β

How to Choose a Septic Service Provider in Allentown
Selecting the right septic service company is crucial for maintaining your system and protecting your investment. Here are key factors to consider when choosing a provider in Allentown, Pennsylvania:
- Check licensing and insurance: Verify the company holds valid state and local licenses and carries liability insurance.
- Read reviews: Look for consistent positive feedback about quality of work, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Get multiple quotes: Compare prices from at least 2-3 companies. Be wary of quotes significantly lower than average.
- Ask about experience: Choose companies with experience in your type of system (conventional, aerobic, mound, etc.).

- Check response time: For emergencies, ask about availability and response times.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.
How much does septic pumping cost in Allentown?
Septic pumping in Allentown, Pennsylvania typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.
What are signs my septic system needs repair?
Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.
Do I need a permit for septic installation in Pennsylvania?
Yes, Pennsylvania requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.
How long does a septic system last?
A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.
What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?
A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
