β€œHad a septic issue and mikes crew was able to come out the next morning ( wasn’t urgent enough to come out that night and told him to wait), made an appointment at 10am and they arrived at 9:55. To me that’s enough for a 5 star when the say they will be there and show up and don’t give you a huge window to block out the day. I believe they were gone by 10:40. Mike will be my guy for septic issues and will use and recommend him to anyone. Military friendly.” β€” daniel andreuccetti, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œMike was very prompt and got us taken care of quickly. Our issue started on Sunday and we called Monday. Mike came out Monday to assess the situation at the end of his busy work day. He was able to identify the issue and get our clog cleared out so we could use our things inside the house until he could come back the next day and pump our septic system and replace a faulty pipe in side the tank that was causing the back up. Sure enough Tuesday morning they were here early and got everything handled and got us back up and running. The price was very reasonable compared to other companies in the area. If you’re having issues or just need your septic pumped don’t hesitate to call these guys for top notch service.” β€” Mark Long, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œIt was late on a Saturday afternoon and my son walked out of the basement and was surprised to have fallen in a hole! Upon inspection I discovered it was a hole over the septic tank. We made 4 or 5 calls of septic companies advertising open 24/7 and Ken at TurdBusters called back right away. We FaceTimed some pictures and he said they’d be right over. 45 minutes his crew was here looking it over and pumping the septic tank. It seemed the entire lid (from 1998) had collapsed into the tank. They secured the area and left after dark. We discussed cost for lid and agreed to proceed. Tuesday they returned to replace the lid. When digging out space to put in the new lid the old tank itself started crumbling. This required major surgery and a whole new plan to replace the whole tank and hook ups in and out. We discussed the additional project costs, and agreed to proceed. The entire time Ken and crew answered all questions and explained our options and their recommendations and why. They got all permissions from Troup County and we even got to meet with the county inspector and ask questions ourselves. The only thing we didn’t have to redo was the drain field thankfully. It took a couple of days to get all the plumbing and risers and concrete tanks but now we have a brand new UP TO CODE and fully legally compliant septic system. Only issue we noticed was when after they were done and we were cleaning up getting ready for grass replacement, the downhill or outlet riser tank lid had been cracked (like a digging machine hit it or a rock dropped on it). We called Ken and with no issue or complaint he got us a replacement lid and had it on in a couple of days. Expensive and unexpected? Yes. But I’ll say TurdBusters was there for us and did everything they said and quality was great. Can’t recommend them highly enough especially if you need major replacements and need to bring a 30 year old septic system to code and back to working order.” β€” Bill Barrett, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œKen and his coworker were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their professionalism was above par and beyond appreciated. They not only pumped, serviced, and repaired my septic; they ensured I was educated on routine tasks to ensure longevity and efficiency of my system. On top of that, they were great sports with my 18 month old being his monster self and wanting to help. I highly recommend Turdbusters to anyone in need of septic services.” β€” Christopher Ledwell, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œI had a catastrophic main line broken pipe that caused a backup of sewage into my tubs, shower and toilets. I called that morning and they were able to come out within a few hours. Josh and his crew showed up and found the location of the failed section. His two sons and another young man worked hard to get the system functional and the back up to be released back into the septic. It was operational over night and they came back the next day to replace the main line. I will make them my first choice in all my septic needs. 5 star service and fair prices. Thanks A&B for saving the day.” β€” Sherman Jones, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œJosh is the best. Did exactly what he said he would do and more. The landscape came out to look better then it did before he did any work. Highly recommended” β€” Paul Potts, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I pump my septic tank?

Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.

How much does septic pumping cost in Columbus?

Septic pumping in Columbus, Georgia typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.

What are signs my septic system needs repair?

Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.

Do I need a permit for septic installation in Georgia?

Yes, Georgia requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.

How long does a septic system last?

A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.

What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?

A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
