βCalled to get same day service for our heater that went out. They had no problem taking the $278 service fee yet failed to send a technician or send updates. I didnβt receive a single phone call, text message, or email regarding any updates after paying over the phone. After calling the company for hearing no response for hours, they advised me a tech would not be coming same day- the one thing I paid for. I see there are good reviews here, but unfortunately I did not have that experience.β β Austin Fisher, β

βI have been having drainage issues with my septic for awhile. I was told by one company that I would need to redo my entire drain field and that is very costly. I wanted to get another opinion on the matter. I read about the TerraLift service and saw several great reviews about it. I thought that I would try that service. I called Septic Works and they came out the next day to do the service for me. Frank did the work for me and is very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and gave me good advice. I am calling Septic Works the next time I need any service for my septic. I highly recommend to anyone that needs any septic service done.β β Devin Cole, βββββ
βOur septic tank on Wilmington Island was full (even though it had recently been pumped out), our existing drain field was not working, and other companies were not responding to my calls. Frank Schmitz of Septic Works of the Low Country DID respond and his sweet wife, Cameron, scheduled the installation of our new drain field as soon as practicable--after utilities were marked and the soil was tested. While avoiding dangerously low-hanging power lines, he removed three large tree stumps, replaced the top soil with four truck loads of special sand, installed 110' of pipe in the ground on a hill, replaced the top soil, and terraced the entire front yard. I would highly recommend Septic Works of the Low Country. They're local, responsive, family-owned, personable, and dependable. :-)β β Sandra Parrott, βββββ

βI just want to say how happy I am with the services that I received from Scott. I was having some kind of odd septic tank issues and between him and Parker Septic services.they didnβt just give me the line about needing a new drainfield, they Literally did intense troubleshooting to try and figure out what was going on. Absolute clear and transparent work was done. I had dealt with two other companies that were just too busy to even try and figure out what was going on and they just wanted us to accept their diagnosis without any real investigation. I 100% would not use anybody else besides reliable septic and Parker Septic in the future.β β Cheryl Pangborn, βββββ
βI would highly recommend Reliable Septic Services Inc. Scott was great! He actually listened to the septic issues we were having rather jumping to the most expensive fix (like most other companies). He came out the next day, diagnosed the issue, and terra lifted our drain field. Which solved the issue and saved us thousands of dollars. A couple of days later when we had more issues due to our main line being clogged this time, we called Scott and he came out that same day to clean out our main line. It's been over a week and we haven't had any issues since.β β Willow Thomas, βββββ

βMr. Robert Parker and Sons last week did extensive work on my Greywater Diversion Device (GDD = 'wash box') and am beyond impressed with the repair that was required and the landscape measures following. I can't imagine any more gracious individuals than these three professional men, the cost and assurance of the job well done was more than a person could hope for. Thank you again Mr. Parker. PLEASE consider adding Journeyman or Master Plumber(s) to your service. With your exceptional business standards it would be a win for everyone.β β Connie M., βββββ
βThis is by far the best septic tank service we have had since moving to the area. The last time our tank was serviced, the technician did not perform all the steps Robert did or even clean the filter. Since this is our first time having a septic tank, we did not know the last service was not done properly. As a result, we ended up with a clogged filter over the weekend. Robert tried to help by troubleshooting over the phone. But, ended up coming out even though he was not feeling his best. We are very appreciative of the time Robert took to explain the maintenance of the system and to show us what was causing the problem. We highly recommend this company and will be using them for any septic system concerns.β β Sendy Rallings, βββββ

βHose came to our house to give us a hot water tank quote. This resulted in two hot water tank installs & disposals(same day). What stood out immediately was that he wasnβt a sales guy β heβs the one who actually does the work. Hose is professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right. The work was completed smoothly, and the area was left clean. The experience was so good weβre planning on upgrading our kitchen sink and shower with Thompson & Thompson. Highly recommend.β β Shelly Blackman, βββββ
βI'd just like to say, thank you. Mr. Milton came, saw and defeat the problems. He removed and installed our garbage disposal. He took the time to explain the whole process; which was great. He examined the job, got the needed parts and installed the unit. It wasn't the easiest thing possible to do. But he did it. He even got us to aquire a yearly service program. No pressure applied either. I just wanted to take the time to thank Him and the company again. The service was excellent in every way.β β Thomas Kemp, βββββ

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.
How much does septic pumping cost in Savannah?
Septic pumping in Savannah, Georgia typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.
What are signs my septic system needs repair?
Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.
Do I need a permit for septic installation in Georgia?
Yes, Georgia requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.
How long does a septic system last?
A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.
What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?
A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
