β€œWorked absolutely amazing with our home insurance company. We’ve paid very little out-of-pocket team was more than friendly and willing to explain everything that I had questions for. Spoke to my home insurance just one time and unit was literally installed the next day which was a Saturday!!! Amazing teamπŸ˜β€ β€” Meghan Miller, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œUpstairs Shower/tub was pouring water through a light fixture below and ceiling. Called Parsons they came out same day. Matt was amazing! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Diagnosed the problem area in the shower drain and was able to cut a small hole right below to gain access and fix the problem all in about 2 hours total only! And reasonably priced! Matt even was able to salvage the piece of dry wall he cut so we can reuse it in the repair/paint ourselves. Thank you Matt and Parsons we will definitely use guys for any plumbing needs.” β€” Dean Fana, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œThe receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. She was able to get us on the schedule for the same day. Carl, the owner of Yoder's Septic gave me a courteous call that he was on his way. We were having water back up in our downstairs bathroom. We originally used a plumbing company that worked weekends the previous month. Without looking at our tank they snaked the drainage line, only to have it happen two days later, another call, another snake and here we are with the same problem. We've used Yoder Septic for 10 years and I am so glad I gave them a call (I should have just done this last month). Within a hour, Carl had the problem fixed and even offered some practical solutions for the future. He was extremely polite and knowledgeable. I am relieved that this was taken care of quickly, correctly and with a fair price. I would recommend Yoder's to my family and friends first. Now to catch up on all the laundry and dishes.” β€” Andrea Schwind, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œIncredibly helpful team and easy to work with. I reached out about getting my septic serviced on the Friday of a holiday weekend and they were able to get me scheduled early the following week. I reached out to about 4-5 different company’s in the area and Yoder’s beat them all out with how responsive they were. The team knows what they’re doing and is pleasant to work with. What more can you ask for!” β€” Riley M, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œSo, who do you call when your husband tells you on the morning of Christmas Eve that both of the downstairs toilets in your condo are non-functional? And we were expecting nine people on Christmas morning! After looking online for Same Day Plumbers, I called Mr. Rooter - Columbus. They were helpful in starting the process of getting us on the list β€” and never mentioned that I was calling at a busy holiday time. We were given a four hour window and Brandon arrived about two hours later. Since these were the original toilets from the 2007 construction, he explained that there were several options. We had already tried to β€˜solve the problems’ by replacing various parts several times, but that wasn’t working. So, we decided that they this time they needed to be replaced. Brandon left for about a half hour to get what was needed, then returned and installed the two toilets. He was careful to clean up as he worked. We were so thankful that we were able to get kind and courteous help the day before Christmas! We felt that the price was reasonable. If there happens to be another plumbing situation, we NOW know who to call!” β€” Lise Wadkins, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œWe had two people out from this company and both were happy to help, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. So happy with the work done today- old gas pipe replace and gas logs installed. Quick to respond and easy scheduling, arrived on time. Thank you!” β€” Chelsea Belknap, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œI needed to have a new kitchen faucet installed. Waterworks was recommended to me by a friend. Just to be sure I checked out their reviews online, which added up to 4.7 out of 5 stars. I called at 7:45 a.m. the day after New Years Day (a Friday morning), and an actual human, who spoke understandable English, answered. I explained my problem, and she checked that day's scheduled openings, of which there were none. That didn't surprise me, but then I was happily surprised when she offered me an appointment Monday morning. I happily booked it, and, sure enough , Kameron showed up right around 8:30. After some show and tell on my part, he quickly, efficiently, and professionally got to work. He found that I needed new hot and cold water shut-off valves with new 1/4-turn angle stops for improved serviceability, which I authorized him to do after showing me the problem. He was most polite, personable and respectful to me and of my home, and knowledgable, finishing the job in a timely manner and to my complete satisfaction. I am putting Waterworks (and Kameron) on my speed dial for any future needs. Can't recommend them highly enough!” β€” Dorie Eisenman, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œOur sump pump was found leaking on a Saturday around 2p. I called immediately and we were able to arrange for an emergency appt. Garrett was a great plumber, courteous/professional and very efficient in his work late that evening. My only complaint would be the lack of ability to know a time or have more frequent communication about the workers arrival time after my initial call. I had to call around 10p and they finally confirmed an appt from 10:45p-12:45a. Service was excellent and price was reasonable. Would have given 5 stars if communication was better about the appt time.” β€” Amanda Lucas, ⭐⭐⭐⭐

What Customers Say:

β€œUpdate (January 28, 2026): I'm revising this review. While Anthony was professional and communicated well during the visit, he misdiagnosed my issue. My Ecobee thermostat was alerting me to frequent HVAC reboots. Anthony attributed the problem to dirty ductwork and performed routine maintenance. I had my ducts cleaned on January 16thβ€”something that genuinely needed to be done after 15 yearsβ€”but the reboots continued. When Bassett Services sent a second technician from Fire & Ice Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical on January 21st, he quickly diagnosed the actual problem: a failing limit switch. It took him minutes. That misdiagnosis cost me nearly three weeks during a historic Ohio cold snap with wind chills hitting 25 below zero. I don't doubt Anthony's intentions, but the problem should have been caught on January 2nd. Original Review: Anthony came out for my 6-month maintenance visit and immediately set the bar high. Professional, thorough, and genuinely knowledgeable. What really stood out was how he communicatedβ€”he walked me through a few maintenance items I should consider down the road, showed me actual pictures of my equipment, and explained exactly why each item mattered. No pressure. Just straight information that helped me understand my system and make informed decisions about timing. That kind of transparency is rare, and I appreciated it. I walked away feeling like a more informed homeowner with a clear picture of what's ahead. If you're in Columbus and want an HVAC tech who takes the time to educate rather than just sell, ask for Anthony at CJS Heating and Air.” β€” Gerald McBrearty, ⭐⭐
β€œJust had a great experience with Walter during an issue we were having with our sump pump. He was very knowledgeable and personable and took the time to walk me through everything he was doing during the fix. Not only did everything get fixed - I learned a thing or two during the process as well πŸ™‚.” β€” Liban Abukar, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œDo not discount the power of small business. These folks are so good at what they do. Courtesy calls prior to the appointment. They called when they were an hour out. So frustrating when other businesses tell you they could show within a 6 hour window and "just appear". Not with Bob's septic. This is the 2nd time we have used their services. They showed my wife the issue and why our septic system was getting clogged. They didn't have to do that but it was really appreciated. All "organic" good business and we will not stray. Also, very reasonable pricing! Happy Wednesday!” β€” Justin Harmon, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œBob’s Septic Tank Service in Sunbury, Ohio is the best around in the area that they service; I have used their service for many years and have always been satisfied. My home has its original septic tank system (1967), and they have always provided the best in septic tank service when it is necessary. They are expedient, professional, friendly, and worked quickly to empty our Septic Tank for the next many months. Because I had a drainage line blockage, they also tried to β€œsuck” the blockage out, to no avail (grease build-up), so I had another company come out the next day to take care of that issue. All now is well! I can speak from experience, good plumbing is a blessing (I’m the son of a Plumber)! Many thanks to this reputable company that β€œAims to Please”! β€œDO NOT USE THEM: July 2025 everything listed on their website of quality was false. Terrible work, lied to me about it being done correctly the first time, then would not honor a free 2nd visit to correct the initial issue. I was never told how much it would cost [my mistake], then got billed for $530.” β€” Jeffrey Soiu, ⭐⭐
β€œUsed Chucks several times in the past for mainline jetting to clear clogs and debris with 0 issues, highly recommended them to anyone I knew. We called them out to clear a cast iron main that was backing up due to Rose bush roots less than 10ft from the house. Employees were unpleasant from jump as the dispatcher had indicated there was an exterior clean out (we had never indicated this). They jetted the line $375 later and it was still backing up, we mistakenly called a 2nd time, had them jet again, another $375 later and it still wasn’t clear. Called an actual plumber who scoped the line (hence how I know the issue and how it was not resolved). Who then cleared the line with a small auger because it was so close to the house. $750 for a job not done, if they want to make it right I am open (but doubtful). My recommendation either have field employees who have an ounce of social skills and professionalism or do the job well, can’t be poor at both.” β€” Aaron Smith, ⭐

What Customers Say:

β€œShort version: this company is untrustworthy, unorganized, dishonest, negligent, unresponsive, and apathetic to their customers after they've caused damages and a financial loss, even though they are supposedly insured. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I give them 0/5 stars. Long version: I had an appointment with Wells at 10 AM on Monday, January 8th, 2024 to check the back-up battery for our sump-pump; it had been going off, indicating that the battery needed to be replaced. We also had noticed a little water on the floor next to where the sump pump is located. Steve and another plumber arrived over 3 hours late. One of the first things he said to me was that "the front-desk lady likes to schedule a lot of appointments." Steve first told me that the main sump pump needed replaced, so I agreed to this. After a few minutes, he then told me that it didn't need to be replaced after all and that the float had been stuck. He indicated on our appointment notes that the "main pump is operational." He also told me it would be cheaper for us to replace the back-up battery ourselves. Before leaving, he said to let him know if that didn't fix the problem. On Friday, January 12, 2024, we got a lot of rain. I went into my basement and noticed my carpet was soaking wet. I called Wells several times before getting ahold of the owner, Taylor, seeking emergency services because it was after hours. He asked me if I could tell if it was getting worse or not, because it could save me a little money to not pay the weekend rate if I waited for someone to come out on Monday to look at it. I asked that he send someone ASAP. He said he would send his head plumber, Steve, to my house first thing Saturday morning. Steve came to my house Saturday morning and assessed the problem. He replaced the sump pump and said, "I should have replaced it the first time." I fully believe that if he had replaced it the first time, my basement wouldn't have suffered the consequences. I also believe that he was rushing due to being so behind on appointments that day, and he was negligent in his diagnosis. Our carpet was completely ruined. The pad underneath was soaked and not salvageable. Our TV stand and baseboards also had water damage and needed to be replaced. My insurance company estimated the cost of repairs to far exceed what they would pay us. I called Wells and talked to Rosie for 4 minutes on January 16, 2024. After explaining the situation, I asked if I could have Taylor's number because I wanted to discuss a solution. She said she couldn't give his number out, so I asked if she could ask him to give me a call. A few days go by, and I don't hear from Taylor. I called again and talked to her on January 19, 2024, for 4 minutes. I again expressed wanting to be able to come to a solution about the damages we sustained. I never heard from Taylor. I felt like they were avoiding me, so I consulted a lawyer. He said I needed to repair everything before seeking payment from Wells. In the process of making repairs, we had another plumber install an updated sump pump system. He commented on the shoddy work done previously. In August 2024, Rosie called my husband asking him to pay our outstanding bill. He explained we hadn't paid it because of the damages they caused. She claimed it was the first time she was hearing about it, which was 100% untrue given I had talked to her twice about it. At this time, I submitted all of our receipts from our repairs to our lawyer. In the summer of 2025, my lawyer reached out to Taylor seeking payment for our repairs. He claimed this was the first time he was hearing about it. My lawyer offered to help him file a claim through his insurance to pay for the repairs. He was worried about his insurance rates going up if he filed a claim. So much so, that he hired a lawyer. He would rather pay legal fees than take accountability and do the right thing! They were unwilling to compromise, so we're left on the hook and paid over $10k for their mistake. IT SHOULD NOT GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND THAT THEY (SUPPOSEDLY) HAVE INSURANCE!” β€” Marissa DiSabato, ⭐
β€œOur Washing Machine was backing up though a Drain on our Basement Floor. We do have Tree Branches starting to grow into the pipe. They were able to come out within a few days of our Call. They used the Water Jet which can Blast though Tree Branches the size of your Finger. It was a Hose that Plugged into the spicket in the front yard that went to their Truck and then another Hose that came out the back and went down to our Basement. They were able to clear the The Clog and Clean up within a hour. They did a Great Job and will definitely call them again. Very Good People. They were going to be a little late from their Job before us and Called us to let us know. πŸ™‚πŸ‘β€ β€” Mark E, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œWe had our septic tank and lid collapse on Memorial Day. Aerator fell into the tank, too and part of back wall as well. We called a few different companies looking for a repair quote, but were met with β€œwe won’t repair, you need to replace” without even looking at it. Called Ace, and Colt came out to look at it the next day. After his assessment, he went over the requirements, what is necessary to be in compliance and then gave us a quote to stabilize and rebuild the portion of the tank that collapsed, clean out the drain lines, a new aerator and even re did our sump pump discharge which was draining too close to the tank. All of this was done within 2 working days (3 total as one day was a complete rain out where concrete couldn’t be poured). Colt and his team did a phenomenal job and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use them personally down the line if any issues arise.” β€” buckeye5755, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œwell, I’m not a customer at this business and I don’t know that I would want to be at this point. If they hire the type of individuals that I ran into today, I’d rather do business elsewhere. One of the employees did not like what I was doing, and called me a bunch of names and treating me very poorly. I simply told him you don’t know me. I’m lucky to be alive. Told him I was more than welcome to have a conversation with him if he would be willing to pull over and discuss the issue I was just a dumb bum! In the last six months, I have lost my home and my vehicle Which caused me to not be able to work at this moment. I would love nothing more than to go back to work, but this individual had no clue he was just too busy judging me. currently, I go through medical treatments, which has caused a lot of lost movement in both of my hands, making it very hard to do many every day tasks. So my point of this review is the employees of this business should have a little bit more compassion and understanding, considering they work with customers I’m sure on a daily basis so the type of interaction I received today from an individual who doesn’t even know me I would be very unlikely to recommend or do business with this company.” β€” Shannon Robinson, ⭐

What Customers Say:

β€œWe’ve been customers for a few years now. They are always very very responsive, professional and very affordable. I highly recommend the service contract! They have saved us hundreds of dollars! I called this morning at 11:30am and I had a technician at my house by 12:15 and had our aerator fixed and running in less than an hour! They are amazing” β€” Krista Maze, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œUPDATE: another service provider came out. Told me that our septic system had been wired incorrectly and showed me exactly where Everclean went wrong. Everclean also replaced a motor for the system but never came inside to see that the fuse was blown. System had not been working for several months as they also give me wrong information about how my system works. I should pursue all this legally but I am just moving on and hoping this post ensures that nobody else has this same experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Service and communication has gone down hill. I have used this company for 5 years. The last experience was that they couldn’t access my septic system and said that they would figure out a resolution. Over a month has gone by and they haven’t been back. I have left several phone calls and emails and have gotten no response. Further, every year I get a letter from the city saying that they received no verification that I have my septic system being actively and regularly serviced. I am thinking that Everclean just hasn’t been sending in notification to the city and then I have to remind them every year. I have moved on to a different company…” β€” Jeff Danziger, ⭐

How to Choose a Septic Service Provider in Columbus

Selecting the right septic service company is crucial for maintaining your system and protecting your investment. Here are key factors to consider when choosing a provider in Columbus, Ohio:

  • Check licensing and insurance: Verify the company holds valid state and local licenses and carries liability insurance.
  • Read reviews: Look for consistent positive feedback about quality of work, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Get multiple quotes: Compare prices from at least 2-3 companies. Be wary of quotes significantly lower than average.
  • Ask about experience: Choose companies with experience in your type of system (conventional, aerobic, mound, etc.).
  • Verify services offered: Ensure they provide the specific service you need (pumping, repair, inspection, installation).
  • Check response time: For emergencies, ask about availability and response times.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I pump my septic tank?

Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.

How much does septic pumping cost in Columbus?

Septic pumping in Columbus, Ohio typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.

What are signs my septic system needs repair?

Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.

Do I need a permit for septic installation in Ohio?

Yes, Ohio requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.

How long does a septic system last?

A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.

What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?

A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
