βSo I have nothing but great things to say about this company. First of all, I had a septic issue arise on a Sunday morning. I called and the dispatcher that answered was very professional and helpful. They sent a technician out way faster than I expected. Michael was amazing from start to finish. He quickly identified the issues we were having, and gave us the suggestions to fix it. His initial quote to us was spot on. We decided to move forward with the repair and asked when it could be done. He said "today". One fast call back to his office, he got the approval, and away he went. Wow, just wow. He started getting everything prepped in the pouring down rain, while his coworker was on his way with the materials needed. His partner Chase arrived and they got right to work. The weather did not make it an easy job as there was flooding going on around the area. Michael and Chase were determined to finish the job that day, not phased by the weather or other challenges they faced along the way. These guys finally finished around 11pm! They could have easily buttoned up what they could and came back a different day, but no, these guys were determined to finish the job. My hats off to these two guys and the company they work for. I can't thank them enough for their work ethic, hard work, and fantastic customer service. I can feel good about flushing my toilet now. 10/10 would recommend πβ β Gregg Cotterill, βββββ
βJeff at All American Septic is a great technician and replaced our pump and diagnosed the issue quickly. Taught me some self maintenance as well and just overall friendly to work with. Iβve used them to pump our solids tank, jet our lines and other septic related issues. Handled all wiring needed and gave me valuable information for care. Warranty on the pump and service and happy to work with the rm in the future.β β Jonathan Nguyen, βββββ

βExcellent service, from beginning to end. Hunter made great reads early on about how the system should work and gave a fair quote. βNampier was a blessing! While visiting my aging parents, I called for support changing out their new gas stove. From the initial phone call, I was pleased with the professional handling. Then we met our dedicated service technician, Nampier, and he brought instant relief. He was kind, knowledgeable and thorough. We appreciated the handling so much that I bought the membership plan for my parents for peace of mind when Iβm not here. βIssue: Toilet wouldnβt flush and sewage odor in house. Scottyβs Sanitation Service came out today and was able to quickly locate the septic tank, dig, and access the problem. The water pump had no power due to a tripped breaker. Kyle and his coworker pumped out both the septic tank and the water pump which were overfilled. Friendly, professional, respectful of property, and patient with my questions and curiosity. I was relieved no repairs were necessary, just a simple power switch back on. Pleased with the cost and felt it was very reasonable for the services and time spent (about an hour). I would definitely recommend Scottyβs for septic tank service needs. βAbsolute worst experience ever ! I specifically requested someone to come over and camera my clean out. They sent someone to snake my clean out , with no camera even though I told them specifically what I needed. Charged me $69 for a tech to drive to my house for nothing ! The tech himself attempted to be accommodating, called CS himself to explain this was a failed service called and they did nothing but say oh $650 plus tax to camera the clean out we can still send someone . Nah iβm good. My money will go to a company that offers proper customer service and competent staff. Shout out to the tech though , very respectableβ β Jamauria Burris, β

βMeh. Called them because of the positive reviews, won't do that again. Waited a week for an appointment to be scheduled. Poor communication. Showed up and decided the tank was too far from the end of my driveway and left. No call, no email, nothing. After 2 days of emails, they offered to come back with some extensions. I said sure, that would be fine. Next day I received an email from a 3rd person saying they wouldn't come back. My original inquiry said the risers were on the back yard and had direct access by driving over the field. I even took down part of the fence for access. They did do other homes for me, no report, no inspection, no communication. Just a pump. Called Double Duece, they arrived the same day, did a full inspection, with clear communication, and no issues driving on the field. The person I spoke with is the person who arrived.β β steven storch, ββ

βThese guys are the best. Honest, efficient and excellent communications. I highly recommend. 9.23.25 update...the only negative is my yard is a mess...didn't do a good job of replacing and filling in holes, leveling up ground, etc. after digging up to get to top of tank.* 10.7.25 update - these fellas came back and did an amazing job repairing the yard damage...leveled, reseeded, and put out straw. This proves they are dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction!β β Connie O'Neal, βββββ

βReview for Jerry Jerry did an amazing job fixing and pumping my septic tank. He was really straightforward and explained everything clearly, which I appreciated a lot since Iβm a Spanish customer and sometimes it can be hard to understand everything in English. He was super patient the whole time and worked really hard to get it done right. You can tell he actually cares about doing a good job. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. 10/10 service for sure!β β Bryan Martinez, βββββ
βRobert did a great job! He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He has educated me on the importance of maintaining my septic system and I plan to do a better job on my part. I thought the price was kind of pricey because originally I was quoted $275 but it ended up being about $700. That really was a shock to me! I think the company need to do a better job at communicating to the customers with more specific detail as it pertains to the cost. After watching Robert work and explaining everything he was doing and why, it really made me understand how septic systems work and how important it is to maintain it. Thanks Robert!β β Corey Thomas, βββββ

βI was in an emergency situation last Friday and needed help within hours as my pump had died and my septic system was overflowing. I called Bobby and despite it being late in the day Friday and all his crews were out on jobs not within 20 miles of me, he found a way to divert one of his best guys, Terry, from a construction job, drive all the way out to my place within 2 hours of my call. Terry found my issue (bad board), repaired it, got the pump going again, charged me a reasonable fee (I'd paid 2x for a similar issue years before), gave me advice on how to keep my system running optimally, and scheduled a pump date within a few days (it had been 5+ years). These guys must get calls like mine every day, but I felt like Bobby had a genuine sense of urgency and empathy for my situation. He cared that I had a real problem and he juggled around his business to make sure my emergency was solved. I highly recommend this company.β β Ben Massie, βββββ
βI had a major problem with my septic field after a large rain storm. I called another company first and was given the run-around (its long story). Then I called Bobby Davis Septic. I told the person on the phone what my issue was. They scheduled an appointment for me the next day. The day of my appointment I received a phone call from the repair team, letting me know they were on the way and should arrive in 30 min. Once on seen they quickly diagnosed the problem and got to work on the repair. As the repairs were ongoing they walked me through the issues found and what was being done to correct the problem. They also made quite a few adjustment to my system to correct other issues I didn't realize I had. Very professional crew from start to finish, and a fair price. I will use Bobby Davis septic for my future needs. Special thanks to Brandon and Antonio! (forgive me if I misspelled your names). Best service I have had in a long time.β β Doug Perry, βββββ

βThis company is extremely difficult to deal with. I've been with this company for roughly 4 years, and their customer service is just absolutely atrocious. They always cut you off, get extremely defensive, and never try to hear us out to resolve the problems. They'll really try to test your patience. They never show up when they're supposed to & they don't ever call, text, or email you in advance to notify you of when they're coming. Even if you ask them for their assurance. They constantly post-pone the service dates. From our personal experience, it's gotten so bad to the point where our grease trap was so backed up it affected our plumbing because they never came to service us on time. At another time, their technicians didn't clean our grease traps properly it heavily affected our plumbing where our sinks and floor drains would get backed up & flood; it was an ongoing issue for a couple of months. It wasn't until we asked a friend who was a contractor to help us look into it they we saw that they never properly cleaned the inner layer of our grease trap. When we reached out for them to address it, they again got defensive & neglected to own up to the issue. I mean, isn't it your job to know what kind of trap you're cleaning to ensure it gets cleaned properly. Our service calls aren't for personal use - we use them for both of our cafes. For any individuals looking into this company, take this as a warning call. I also know for a fact that when I had searched this company originally, they had more than 2 reviews. Stay away from this company they're absolutely terrible & not worth your time or moneyβ β Nicole Tse, β
βAlex came in and was very professional, and even offered to reschedule our service. He even apologized for the inconvenience, he came in and cleaned out our grease traps with minimal effort and was very cleanly with his work. I recommend this service for their professionalism and work ethic.β β S0mbrastat1c, βββββ

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.
How much does septic pumping cost in Durham?
Septic pumping in Durham, North Carolina typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.
What are signs my septic system needs repair?
Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.
Do I need a permit for septic installation in North Carolina?
Yes, North Carolina requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.
How long does a septic system last?
A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.
What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?
A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
